Bios

• Steven Cairo

  DVM

  Dr. Steven Cairo graduated from the University of Illinois in 1976. He started working at Cairo Animal Hospital, then called Kohn Animal Hospital, in 1978. The clinic has been treating animals in Highland Park since 1954, when Dr. Leonard Kohn first opened it. Dr. Cairo became part owner of the practice in1981, and became full owner in 1986 after Dr. Kohn retired. He partnered with VCA in 2011. Special Interests: While he practices general medicine and surgery, Dr. Cairo's main interests include internal medicine, G.I. and endocrine diseases, soft tissue surgery, and wellness care. In his spare time he is a sailing enthusiast and enjoys spending time with his family of three daughters, four dogs, and one cat.

• Lynn Levy

  DVM

  Dr. Lynn Levy graduated from the University of Illinois in 1985 and joined VCA Cairo Animal Hospital in December of 1988. Special Interests: Dr. Levy is particularly interested in dermatology, internal medicine and dentistry, including periodontal disease and surgical extractions. She has a passion for baking which she shares with her husband and two teenage children. Dr. Levy's other interests include reading and doing agility with her Tibetan terrier, Lucky.

• Robyn Walter

  DVM

  Dr. Robyn Walter graduated from the University of Illinois in 1990 and joined VCA Cairo Animal Hospital in 2009. Originally from central Illinois, she has been practicing in the Chicago area since 1990. Special Interests: Dr. Walter loves practicing both general medicine and surgical procedures on dogs and cats. She, her husband, and her three children, enjoy camping, playing volleyball, biking, and playing with their two dogs, Kobe and Libby.

• Colleen Mullen

  DVM

  Dr. Colleen R. Mullen received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from St. George's University in 2010 and her B.S. in Animal Science from Purdue University in 2005. She grew up in the Chicagoland area and since graduation has practiced in the suburbs doing general practice, emergency relief, and shelter medicine. Her interests include client education, pharmacology, internal medicine with a special interest in feline medicine and surgery. She also has aspirations to become certified in veterinary acupuncture. Dr. Mullen enjoys traveling, listening to music, attending concerts, yoga and spending time with family and friends. She also shares her life with her two cats, Lucy and Floyd. She joined the VCA team in October 2012 and is happy to be able to provide veterinary care with the extended evening hours in order to accomodate her clients and patients at VCA Cairo Animal Hospital.
